Grass Tree Governance Services

Grass Tree Governance is focused on supporting Aboriginal organisations throughout Western Australia on their governance journey.  Grass Tree Governance is small – its just me! But what I lack in numbers, I make up in experience, insight and an enduring love of working on country and getting to know a community. I will come to you, wherever you are in WA and support your organisation in its governance journey.

Independent Director on Aboriginal Corporation boards

I am currently the Independent Director of Wajarri Yamaji Aboriginal Corporation (in the Murchison) and one of the Expert Directors of Ballardong Aboriginal Corporation (Noongar corporation in the Mid West). I see my role of Independent Director as one of supporting and empowering the Member (Traditional Owner) Directors to make good decisions for their communities.

On-country Governance Training

I work with Aboriginal boards to reinforce their understanding of their corporate governance responsibilities in the context of their cultural obligations. The sessions are interactive, scenario-based and tailored to the needs of each individual board. A sample Governance Training session is attached.

Governance Support

Providing Board Inductions, Fit for Purpose Policies and Procedures Supporting Board self-assessment surveys; Independent CEO performance reviews; Small meeting facilitation either face to face or using online technology.

Who I Am

I was born in Hong Kong to Australian parents, with a family history based in Albany, Western Australia. I now live in Perth, the traditional country of the
Whadjuk Noongar people. I am married with three daughters. I take every opportunity I can to show them the beautiful country in which they live.
I would like to pay my humble respects and extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Traditional Owners and the Elders past and present who have cared for this incredible country for so many thousands of years.
